Lex Talionis

“An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth”
the principle of lex talionis.

I mean if this is the motto I lived by everyone I know would be walking around unperceptive and with a mouth full of blood and gums.

Chalking them up as “lessons learned”, leaving each extracted body part at the exsact spot were it was plucked.
We move along like there isn’t a thing to see here…

While the philosopher who conjured up this thought and his fellow believers of this here simple little life motto scurry swiftly behind us following the trail of blood and teeth like the yellow brick road, collecting every last causality hoarding them away in the safety of their innocent looking picnic baskets.

Life lessons converted into money,
Making deals with the damn tooth fairy, one she can’t quite refuse.
All the bounty and none of the long, grueling work.
Very straightforward.
Cash in hand before they even got there
The Alliance Tighter Than Air.

They make a killing off fairy tales and biblical terms
or maybe it’s just the era…
